"I've already followed @JohnKim on Twitter. I attend a lot of education sessions across many industry associations and by far this education was the best."
— Sean Bleyl, MembersFirst referring to the November 2013 Annual Meeting
"For me it's all about building relationships! There's nothing better than attending the NEGCOA membership meetings and seeing old friends and getting to know new owners and trading ideas and information about how to better manage our golf operations. It's great to get to know the owners and have someone to call later on when you have some questions."
— Kevin Osgood, Sterling Golf Management
"Over the last year I have been to all of the monthly meetings except one. At each of the meetings I attended I was amazed by how pertinent the topics are to small business owners. Two meetings immediately come to mind. Designate “Environmental Areas” on your course thereby lowering maintenance costs and speeding play while making your course more environmentally friendly. Point of purchase systems for your beverage carts (soon to be mobile pro shops) that also sells umbrellas, balls and gloves, etc. I believe that if every member course were to implement only one idea that is pitched in a year, they would save the equivalent of a salary or multiple salaries in cost savings or increased sales. The speakers are informative, learned and engaging. There is another benefit in regular attendance and that benefit is to the corporate members. In any organization such as the NEGCOA the corporate members join for several reasons, but the major two in my opinion are to learn more about the problems facing the golf industry and to build relationships with the members in a friendly no pressure forum."
