We are pleased to be back in Providence in 2020 at the Annual Turf Conference put on by New England Regional Turfgrass Foundation (NERTF).

  • Are you concerned about this winter's weather impact on your course conditions?
  • Do you want to connect with vendors on their newest products and technology to improve your course conditions?

Then join fellow owners/operators for a special day at the NE Regional Turfgrass Conference and Show!

Date:  Wednesday, March 4, 2020
Time:  NEGCOA session from 10:00am to 12:00
Where: Rhode Island Convention Center, Providence RI
Food:  Networking lunch will follow from 12:00-1:00pm
Deadline:  Please RSVP by Feb 26

We will start of with:

"The Perception of Golf: How BMPs and The First Green Can Positively Affect Golf's Imagepresented by Kevin Doyle  - Field Staff - Northeast Region - GCSAA

Ensure that your turf staff knows about the Best Management Practices that have been developed -- ensuring better turf, lowers costs, and much, much more.

Also- learn how you can increase Junior activity at your facility by turning your course into a classroom for kids.  This idea came up at the Bright Ideas session at the Golf Business Conference in Orlando.  A course developed a Science and Nature component to their Junior Camp -- quickly becoming a hit and bringing in more revenue!!  Kevin will share info about The First Green program.

Best Management Practices initiative:

The superintendent associations throughout New England engaged to develop a publication documenting Best Management Practices for Golf Courses.  Industry scientists and experts have documented practices that superintendents currently use, or could further develop, at their facilities to protect the natural resources on property.  In the near future, superintendents will have the ability to develop a facility BMP specific to their golf course.

First Green:

First Green recently joined as a GCSAA program that pairs golf courses with local schools for unique Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) learning opportunities.  Hosting children of any age at the golf facility and educating them on the environmental and community benefits of NEGCOA facilities is a win for the entire industry.  Opening minds to the potential for life-long careers in all aspects of the golf industry is a potential and amazing benefit as well!  You can find more information on First Green here.

We will follow Kevin's talk with

New England Masterminds --

Bring your questions, problems and encouragement to this popular and lively workshop. Surrounded by your owner/operator and superintendent peers of all types of courses and with all experience levels, you can engage in honest conversation about your struggles and successes. More than just peer networking, this session is like group therapy: you'll be able to air your most pressing business issues and get answers from others who have already experienced and resolved them.

A networking luncheon from 12:00-1:00 will follow our session.

Then hit the Trade Show floor and meet with a host of vendors!

You must preregister so we can get a headcount for lunch.

Ways to register:

The education sessions and lunch are free to all from NEGCOA member clubs

However, if you plan to attend portions of the larger Turf Conference -- then you should register with them.  Options for Wednesday -  Full Day registration ($140) or Trade Show only ($50) - Walk the Show Floor with your Superintendent as you get set to start the coming season!
